I’m really enthusiastic about this whole VA thing. It’s an opportunity for people like me who are too creative (and therefore find the office environment stifling) to get away from the boxed, conventional setting. I like working at my own pace.
This website was created to encourage Filipinos who have such vast talents, yet untapped, to get into the VA industry. Some people might think, “Oh no! More competition!”, but somehow, I don’t find that as a threat. As long as you’re comfortable and good at your niche, and you have had a good track record, there’s really nothing to worry about, right? The more, the merrier, I think.
It would also be great to form an association or a network or something. That way, we can come up with standard rates. I really feel strongly about this because I feel exploited sometimes. These employers who post on Craiglist must probably think we are that desperate enough to accept a $1/hr rate or a .$75/article written.
Seriously.
We are not that low. We are worth so much more than that.
